Charley Crockett teases new album Dollar A Day with first single Crucified Son on the way

Charley Crockett is back at it, y’all!

If you thought Lonesome Drifter was the end of the trail, think again. Charley just announced the next chapter in his “Sagebrush Trilogy” — a brand new album called Dollar A Day, and it’s droppin' on August 8th. Produced, yet again, by the legendary Shooter Jennings, this new record is set to follow up on the wild storytelling, dusty boots atmosphere, and sharp songwriting that made the first installment such a hit.

And get this — the lead single, “Crucified Son,” will be landing just in time for your 4th of July BBQ playlists on July 3rd. Fireworks, smoked brisket, and a brand new Charley Crockett track? We’re here for it!

“I don’t gamble. I just risk it all.” – Charley Crockett, probably speaking for every country music fan when they double down on another track of his before payday.

Like he did with his $10 Cowboy and Visions of Dallas pair, Charley’s bringing us a second part to Lonesome Drifter with Dollar A Day. This ain’t just an album drop. It’s part two of a concept series, a trilogy that’s shaping up to be one for the ages.

Recorded at the historic Sunset Sound Studio 3 in Hollywood, Charley and Shooter kept things real — rough edges and all. According to Charley, the project practically built itself:

“Shooter and I barely talked about it. I just brought all of my guys out, and the album made itself. It was live without a lot of overdubs. There were no inhibitions.”

If you’re wondering what makes this collab so special, Charley says it best:

“With Shooter, I’ve never felt more like myself in the studio… Hell, I’d say he’s my best friend, and you can’t aspire to greatness without that kind of trust.”

Now that’s the kind of chemistry we love to hear about when it comes to making authentic country music.

And talk about prolific — Dollar A Day will be Charley’s 17th album if you’re counting everything, including his live record from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Most artists are still brewing three chords and the truth while Charley’s out here building trilogies.

You already know the vibe: Western stories, timeless tones, with that Waylon Jennings spirit riding shotgun. If there’s anything left from those magic 10 days in the studio, we might just be getting a gold mine of tunes.

Set your calendar and get ready. Here’s the official trailer for the album. Let’s go:
